oh, think twice

  1. Listening to Phil Collins - Another Day in Paradise. The song is about the more unfortunate people in the society i.e. homeless people. I recall a conversation I had with the cleaner lady at my office. She said she brought food from home for lunch. With her measly income, she can't afford to eat at the cafe, she said. And she would keep some of that food for tea-time coz by 4pm she'd be hungry already. It somehow made me think how lucky we are to have what we have. We sometimes don't realise that we are so blessed and we take for granted things that others may not be able to enjoy at all. Alhamdulillah we have more than enough food on our table, nice clothes to wear and a decent roof above our heads. Not to mention great family and friends around us to give us the support we need.

  2. Tomorrow is my Franchising exam but I don't feel like studying tonight. Might just sleep soon and wake up early to study.

  3. Had an Away Day on Thursday last week. Organised by RHB for middle management to do some brainstorming for next year's strategy. I was lucky enough to be invited. Our team discussed on ways to overcome the declining profit margin due to price wars between banks. In other words, everyone is competing in terms of price, meaning prices are going lower and lower. This translates into lower profit margin for the bank. The other topic we discussed was ways to increase brand awareness of RHB. Our team had an awesome presentation. The boss liked it. We proposed for the bank to create a Service Excellence Culture in RHB. It was a huge idea, which the boss liked, but I don't think he's ready to implement it. Even if he wanted to, if the top people didn't want to, it wouldn't work anyway. But some smaller scale ideas were taken into consideration. Other teams had fantastic ideas too. But our team had the best presentation. Ahah. All those years doing presentations in Uni paid off well. Weee... Oh, yes, I was the presenter for my team. Terer tak anak mami?? *self-praise in action. Hihihihihi. Angkat bakul sendiri jap.

  4. Also had an Annual Dinner last week. Yes it was quite a hectic week. And the hectic aftermath is still spilling over to this week. Anyway, the dinner was ok. Performance were bad because there were girls in short shorts kangkanging their legs and shaking their boobs with no apparent motive or benefit to themselves geez and there were drag queens in almost ALL the department performances. Why? I don't get it. It was funny when the first department had a guy in a short dress dancing the waka-waka. But when subsequent ones came up with those tight-clothes-fake-boobs, it was just embarrassing. Have you ever felt embarrassed for someone else? Yes that's what I felt. And to add to the embarrassment, our MC for the night was Harith Iskandar!! I mean what image of RHB are we sending out to him?? Even HE was so appalled by our performances that he made some remarks about it, albeit subtly and jokingly. He must be telling fellow comedians how bad RHB's standards are. Of course, we are not performers, we are bankers, but can't we at least practice a little bit of decency on stage? Performing for our Chairman and Board of Directors. And guest artists. Oh dear.

  5. And so I ended up downloading one whole album of Phil Collin's greatest hits. Haih. Pantang dengar lagu best. Nak jugak the whole album.

Goodnight.
